May 3, 1923 ~ June 3, 2017

Ann Chernoff of Erickson, BC passed away on June 3, 2017 at Swan Valley Lodge in Creston, BC with her family by her side.

Ann was born in Robson, BC on May 3, 1923. Ann Grew up in Nelson/Thrums area where she met her future husband, Bill Chernoff. They married in 1942 and moved to the Creston Valley. They had their first child, Shirley Elaine who was stillborn. Later they had two boys, Jack and Tom and then a daughter May. They owned an apple orchard in Erickson where they farmed for nearly 35 years. When they finally retired, they sold the orchard and moved to a smaller house with less than an acre of land where mom still had a huge vegetable garden and flower beds. She spent many hours every day outside gardening until she moved to Swan Valley Lodge. Ann was a member of the Red Cross, sewing quilts for many years. She bowled in a league for years, but her greatest joy (in addition to her grandkids) was gardening large vegetable and flower gardens. She won awards at the Fall Fair for a number of years for her beautiful flowers.

Ann was predeceased by her husband Bill, her son Jack and infant daughter Shirley.

She is survived by her son Tom, daughter May and grandchildren Shauna and Corey.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Swan Valley Lodge, Purcell Wing for their wonderful care of Mom for the past ten years.

There was a family graveside service held on June 6, 2017.
