Alex Bone

July 11, 1935 ~ April 12, 2011

Alex Bone of Wynndel, BC passed away at the age of 75 years on April 12, 2011.

Alex was born on July 11, 1935 in Kindersley, SK. He spent his youth in Drumheller, AB and came to the Creston Valley in 1968.

He began working when he was 14 years old and always reveled in tough, physically demanding jobs. His unpaid labour was his real joy in life. His patiently tended garden was considered by many to be one of Wynndel's landmarks. A keen horse racing fan and a lifelong Hab, he enthusiastically followed most sports. And after 35 years, he finally caught the "big one" at Blue Point. He was self-educated in the classics, a philosopher at heart who lived his life quietly and efficiently.

In his retirement, he was both a community volunteer and a dedicated friend of Bill W's. His family and friends will remember him as a generous and principled man who took great pleasure in being of service.

Alex was predeceased by his daughter Tracy.

He is survived by Ruby, his wife of fifty years; three children, Troy, Michele and Laraine; three grandchildren, Justin (Twilight), Jake and Toni; his great-granddaughter Chloe; two sons-in-law, Michel and Adam; three brothers, Bill, Jim and George, and a much loved and extended family too numerous to count.

Memorial contributions in Alex's name may be made to the BC Lung Association, 2675 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC V6H 2K2
