To the editor,

I very much concur with Bruce Paterson’s letter to the editor in last weeks Advance. We are going through the very same process that we went through when plans were being formulated to build our Aquatic Center. Today all the naysayers are happy with our exceptional Center. People travel regularly from Crawford Bay and Boswell to attend Aqua Fit classes, and quite frequently people come from Bonners Ferry. They come and they stop to shop in Creston. Recently some longtime residents of Creston moved to the Island to the Courtney-Comox area, and they do not have anything like our Complex there, which they miss very much.

As far as our Council managing the affairs of our town is concerned we have the nicest town going, and it’s maintenance in uncomparable. Just travel to Cranbrook and see how their snow removal compares to ours.

Safety and fire protection is a high priority. As the Aquatic Center draws people to settle in Creston, so will a State of the Art Fire Hall. And people are moving to Creston. There was a time when I knew every person in town, today I don’t know 90% of them.

I found the “For The Record” brochure put out by the Town most comprehensive and informative.

Bite the bullet and build it. It’s the best investment the Town can make.
