Longtime volunteer Henry Schoof was named citizen of the year at the Creston Valley Blossom Festival opening ceremonies last night at Prince Charles Theatre.
In addition, Matthew Lengyell and Matthew Dominic received citizenship awards from the Town of Creston for helping to save their neighbours "during a fire to prevent further harm or property damage."
The evening's entertainment included Creston Valley native Daniel Huscroft in a well-received one-man concert, as well as renowned Canadian entertainer Al Simmons.
