Letter to the Editor,
Agreeing with the last few pro fire hall letters. My husband and I have very recently moved to Creston. Having fire protection was definitely one of the considerations in choosing our retirement community.
I personally served 3 years volunteering with our previous local Fire Dept. I know 1st hand the benefits of having a well trained and equipped fire crew.
I feel $100 per year increase in my taxes for continued fire protection is much better than paying 3 times the amount required for insurance without fire protection.
Paying more in taxes with a chance to save my treasures or paying more for insurance with no chance of saving my treasurers seems clear to me.
