Creston RCMP responded to 81 calls from July 9-15, Staff Sgt. Bob Gollan said on Monday.
July 9
•A vehicle parked at Twin Bays was keyed.
•A vehicle parked on 11th Avenue North was walked on, denting the hood and roof.
•A gas can was stolen from a residence on Newman Street in Kitchener.
•A male was arrested for breaching a no-contact order.
•When police stopped an erratic driver on Highway 3A, a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a large quantity of a variety of illegal drugs. The driver was ticketed for not having a valid driver’s licence and the vehicle was seized. Gollan says charges are pending with regards to the drugs.
•The driver of a 1997 Toyota Corolla was offended when she was stopped for transporting two dogs in the open trunk on Northwest Boulevard. She said she was only going a short distance.
•Parents reported that their adult child destroyed his laptop in their 44th Street residence.
•A complaint about unwanted kittens at a McDonald Road residence was referred to the Pet Adoption and Welfare Society.
July 10
•An elk walked away from the scene after being struck by a vehicle on the Placer Creek Forest Service Road. The vehicle sustained severe damage.
•When police responded to a complaint about assault with a weapon, the victim refused to co-operate with the investigation.
•Police received a complaint that traffic cones had been taken from a pickup truck and spread around Canyon Street “for the third year in a row.”
•Solar lights were stolen from fence posts on Sixth Avenue North on July 7 and strewn around the area.
•A Kindle and running shoes were stolen from a locked vehicle.
•Inadvertently sending a suggestive photo to an unintended party ended up with the offending female being threatened.
•Two females who got into a consensual fight on the previous weekend at the Canyon-Lister gravel pit were warned about their behavior.
•When police got a complaint about an assault with a weapon from a Seventh Avenue North address, they found the call had been made by an intoxicated female who wanted a sober person removed from the residence. She said she made up the assault with a weapon story to get a faster response from the police. It worked, but she also spent the night in police cells and was released when sober.
July 11
•A Sanca Creek resident who was selling a property privately got a call from the supposed buyer who said his vehicle had broken down and he needed $800. The resident wired the money and the buyers deny any knowledge of the call.
•Police are attempting to locate a driver who failed to stop for a pedestrian on Canyon Street.
•A semi driver was ticketed for failing to yield when his vehicle collided with a car on Highway 3A. Minor damage was reported.
•A white four-by-four post with a house number was stolen from an Erickson Road residence.
