Creston RCMP responded to 90 calls for service from June 20-26, Cpl. Gerry Sliworsky said on Tuesday.

June 20

• No further problems were reported after police responded to a male yelling in a 6th Avenue North apartment.

• Police received a report of stolen property in Kitchener and determined that a travel trailer had been stolen from Redcliff AB in 2014. The owner confirmed it was stolen and that he had been paid out by the insurer. The trailer was towed.

• Police received a report from Mallory Road of a male breaching probation.

• Police are investigating a third party report of a domestic assault on 6th Avenue.

• A person who was reported to be making unwanted text messages was taken to hospital for assessment.

• A Westview Road resident complained about noise and lights from the nearby sawmill’s night shift.

June 21

• A heavily intoxicated female youth was taken into custody for her protection until she was sober. The appropriate agencies have been notified.

• Two drivers were caught using cell phones in a road check on Canyon Street.

• Police are investigating the theft of backpacks containing personal belongings at the Community Complex. The gear was left on a change room bench and a suspect has been identified on video.

• Police received a complaint about ongoing vehicle speeding issues on Haskins Road.

• Harassing texts from her ex-husband were reported by a female on 16th Avenue.

• A vehicle that collided with a deer on Highway 3 near Kootenay Pass had to be towed. The occupants were not injured.

• A warning letter has been sent to the owner of a vehicle that cut off a female driver on Canyon Street.

•A southbound vehicle on Lower Wynndel Road from which garbage was being thrown was not located.

• Trees blown down in a windstorm were blocking Corn Creek Road.

• A complaint was received from a business in the 15000 block of Highway 3A, where a person was reported to be discouraging customers from entering the building. The offender, a resident of the building, was later evicted while police attended to keep the peace.

• A blue wallet and contents were reported lost on Dean Road.

• A male youth reported to be doing mischief to swings in Centennial Park was confronted by a male. He apologized and stopped.

June 22

• Ammunition found by a hiker was turned over to police for destruction.

• A purse containing keys was stolen from an unlocked vehicle on 8th Avenue South.

• Two cows were reported to be on Highway 3, but police could not locate them.

• Horses were reported on Highway 3 in the 4000 block but police could not locate them.

• A gopher was reported on … oh, never mind.

• An uninsured vehicle was stopped on Highway 3 and towed. The driver was issued a ticket.

• Police are investigating a domestic assault near Kitchener.

• Youths reported to be urinating on the gazebo in Centennial Park were located and found in possession of alcohol, which was poured out. Their parents were advised about their behavior.

• A reported possibly impaired driver on Erickson Road was located, and police determined he was not impaired.

• No injuries were reported to an Alberta vehicle’s occupants after it collided with a deer on Highway 3.

• A well-being check on a young male on 10th Avenue North revealed he was okay.

June 23

• Police are investigating a concern about the driving ability of an elderly female.

• An Alberta vehicle had to be towed after it collided with a deer near Yahk.

• Police were called to a 14th Avenue residence, where an inebriated parent was in the same house as a child.

• Police located a vehicle reported to be in the control of a possibly impaired driver on 36th Avenue North. The driver had not been drinking but he got a ticket for the open liquor of his passengers. The booze was poured out.

• A 26-foot sailboat reported stolen was found in the next cove on Kootenay Lake, apparently having come loose from its moorings.

• A wallet was found on Erickson Road.

• Pruning shears were shoplifted from a Northwest Boulevard business. Police are investigating video of the incident.

• A male faces charges of breaching conditions after failing to show up at the police station for his weekend jail stay.

• Police seized and destroyed a small amount of marijuana on Canyon Street at 16th Avenue.

June 24

• An intoxicated 15-year-old female from Centre Road was held in custody for her protection, then turned over to guardians.

• Police did not find the source of gunshots reported near Kootenay Lake Forest Service Road.

• Police are seeking the owner of an abandoned snow cat on the Gray Creek Forest Service Road.

• Shots reported near Crackerjack Forest Service Road were determined to be from target shooting.

• An intoxicated male in a fight on 1st Avenue Northwest had his beer dumped and was then taken into custody for the night.

June 25

• A child found running along 33rd Avenue South was determined to have run away from his grandmother, to whom he was returned.

• Police are investigating a tip about an outdoor marijuana grow op.

June 26

• A male reported being threatened when he told another male to remove his vehicle from a business property on Erickson Road.

• A small quantity of diesel was stolen on Highway 3 when thieves broke a lock off a tank.

• A large window of a Northwest Boulevard business was broken on the weekend, causing about $2,000 in damage.

• A well-being check on Stace Road indicated the resident was okay.

• An ongoing issue with a youth running away from an Erickson Street residence was reported.

• An 11-year-old boy called police from Lister Road after his grandmother told him to get ready for bed.

• Police helped deal with a female who had overdosed on drugs and was attempting to leave the hospital in a possibly suicidal state.
