Tucker Green is returning to the Snoring Sasquatch on June 29 on his way from Toronto to Vancouver for his cross-Canada summer tour. The Toronto-based Americana musician didn’t hesitate to plan a date in Creston as the last time he was in town the show was one of his tour highlights.
“The people in Creston are so welcoming, and as soon as you roll into town, you feel like you’re home,” said Green. “It’s one of my favourite places to stop.”
Now, he’s back for round two as the always-enjoyable art house hosts another evening of incredible songwriting and performance.
When Green says that he works hard, he really means it. The 27-year-old songwriter is embarking on his second cross-Canada tour in less than a year, visiting cities between his current home in Toronto and where he grew up, Langley, B.C. The tour is a way to stay in touch with longtime fans and make new ones in places he’s never played.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing familiar faces from the last time we travelled across, but am also hoping to make some new friends along the way,” said Green.
Green recently moved from Langley to Toronto to pursue music and has been surprised by the momentum already. His community has broadened and the opportunity to work with new artists has been positive.
This tour will be mainly solo shows, occasionally accompanied by other artists on tour with intersecting paths. Green says that this is one of the first tours where after announcing dates, he started receiving emails from other bands saying that they would be in the same cities on the same dates.
“You really feel like you’ve cultivated an incredibly large music community when things like this happen,” he said. “Even though the road can be exhausting, knowing that other people are invested in music enough to be travelling around as well is amazing.”
Green is known for his well-crafted songs and engaging live performances. It is rare to attend a show without being prompted to sing along or laughing as he relays an endearing anecdote. Fans make a point of coming out to see him when he’s in town because they know that it will be an entertaining night of great songs, skilled musicianship, and warm community.
