The Creston Valley branch of Wildsight will show a documentary showing the effects of climate change on March 12.

Chasing Ice is a Satellite Award-winning documentary by National Geographic photographer James Balog who journeyed to Iceland, Switzerland, Greenland, and Alaska filming Earth’s disappearing ice.

The documentary includes scenes from a glacier calving event that took place at Jakobshavn Glacier in Greenland, lasting 75 minutes, the longest such event ever captured on film.

The film received an Academy Award nomination for best original song for Before My Time, written by J. Ralph and performed by Scarlett Johansson and Joshua Bell.
