We’ve got rhythm! Come join the Blossom Valley Singers on April 16 and 17 at 2:30 p.m. for a spring concert and tea, "The Rhythm of Life". Feel the beat! Your toes will be tapping to old favourites and new numbers that showcase the joy and inspiration of the movement of music.

The ladies' hearts will be beating pit-a-pat as handsome tenors and basses in aprons circle the tables serving tea and delicious home baked goodies. Guest performers will include the youth choir, Velvet Strings and Key of She. This annual spring event by Creston's community choir, the Blossom Valley Singers, is a fun social gathering for greeting family and meeting friends, with great musical entertainment in a cafe setting. The group is excited to be hosting this party at a new venue this year, the spacious Creston Room of the Community Complex.

Director Anita Stushnoff has selected a program to please and uplift, with such numbers as Rhythm of Life from the musical Sweet Charity, Oscar Peterson’s majestic "Hymn to Freedom", a lilting lullaby from the popular movie The Hunger Games, and many more.

Can you carry a tune? Maybe you’ve "got rhythm” and will join the choir for the next concert at Christmas. Blossom Valley Singers is a non-audition community choir ranging from youth to seniors. With Stushnoff’s guidance and encouragement, and spirited piano accompaniment by Monte Anderson, it practices together for two concerts a year and has great fun and friendship while doing it. Part of the ticket proceeds go to support music scholarships for budding musicians in the Creston Valley.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for youth 12 and under, and are available at Black Bear Books, Creative Fix or at the door, or from choir members. Ticket prices include tea and baked goods provided by the Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors.
