The Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area, in co-operation with the Columbia Canoe Club, is hosting a BC Rivers Day Paddle on Sept. 25. You must bring your own canoe or kayak and lifejacket and have some experience. The group will paddle a section of the Kootenay River and pop into areas of the wetland, too.
Anyone wishing to participate should meet at the Tim Hortons parking lot at 10 a.m. and proceed to launch point as a group. Expect to be on the water for a few hours, wrapping up the day at around 2 p.m. — so bring a lunch!
