On Nov. 19, members of the Creston RCMP detachment were presented with long-term service pins and Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals in a ceremony at St. Eugene Mission.

Lower Kootenay Band Chief Jason Louie, who has also received a Queen’s Jubilee Medal, was a guest at the ceremony, which saw medals go to Staff. Sgt. Bob Gollan, Cpl. Monty Taylor and office manager Chris Harland.

Gollan, Cpl. Kim Bloy and Const. Irvin Miller received 30-year RCMP service pins, and Cpl. Charlotte Joa received a 20-year pin.

The former Creston detachment commander, Staff Sgt. Gord Stewart, mediated the ceremony.
